This is a serious
professional dome camera. The
Auto Iris Varifocal Lens Dome Camera has a Sony Super HAD
CCD chip which makes it extremely
sensitive to light and perfect
for low-light conditions. Built-in this
dome camera is an auto iris lens which automatically adjusts to changes
in light so you get a better image.
Auto Iris (AI) &
Varifocal Lens Operation
Essentially what the Varifocal lens does,
is change the focal length (zoom in or
out) to compensate for changing ambient lighting conditions, in
order to achieve optimum picture clarity for current
conditions. This Varifocal
lens works in conjunction with the Auto Iris (AI)
feature in which a light sensor detects the amount of light coming into
the camera,
and adjusts the camera lens opening. For example, with less ambient
light available, the AI feature commands the lens aperture to open
wider allowing it to receive adequate light to maintain a quality video
display under those darker conditions. It is
a little more complicated than that, but in a nutshell, that is how the
Auto Iris - Varifocal lens works. Manual zoom controls are accessed
by removing the dome cover and adjusting the zoom. Dip switch controls
(on the back of the camera AI, AGC, AWB,
BIC, FL) allow you to change various image settings.
