Hidden Cameras | Mini Board Cameras
| Wireless Spy Cameras
Mini
Board Cameras are basically a fixed lens mounted on a
circuit board. Hidden cameras, wireless
spy cameras, and dome cameras all incorporate the use of
mini board cameras. These mini board cameras come in
different shapes and sizes, and are sold as separate entities for
custom mounting by the buyer.
Mini
board camera lenses are either of a "full opened" type or
"pinhole" in which the opening of the lens is very small.
Pinhole cameras are what people refer to as "spy"
cameras and are primarily used in the manufacture of hidden cameras.
All of our hidden
cameras for example utilize mini board cameras.
Focal Length
Lenses in mini board cameras have
a fixed iris and in most cases they have a short focal
length (the distance between the surface of the lens and it's focal
point) which results in a wide angle of view. Our board cameras have a
lens between 3.6 and 6mm. What this means in practical terms,
is that the area that can be surveyed is somewhat limited because
they can't be zoomed in and out for close-ups or long shots.
This fixed focal length is a limitation but mini board
cameras do offer a low cost solution to security needs
especially in hidden camera situations.
